Part II: Non-drive pulley of mine conveyor line

In last article--Pulley lagging model selection in cement plant Part I: Drive pulley of mine conveyor line, we explain how to increase the safety of pulley rubber lagging sheet.

Here, let me talk about the choices of non-drive pulley. 

Regarding the rubber lagging on tail pulley of the mine conveyor system, we find that more damage was not caused by wear, but injured by leakage of the guide trough.

We recommend that customers add V-type plough return belt cleaner on tail part or I-type belt cleaner to clean the leakage for protecting pulley. At the same time, improving the rubber layer material of pulley that using 100% full ceramic lagging or polyurethane lagging sheet.

100% full ceramic lagging is produced with 92%-95% AI2O3, Not only can provide working life more than 10 years, but also the super hardness≥9T can prevent various bulk materials break pulley surface and bring best protection. The friction of ceramic is only 50% of rubber, which protects the conveyor belt.

If downtime is limited, polyurethane pulley lagging is also an excellent choice. The hardness of polyurethane can reach 95 Shore A, and it also provide excellent anti-shelf performance and improve the service life of pulley lagging.

The abrasion of DCCD® polyurethane lagging ≤35mm³, which is 300% higher than the abrasion of rubber. The friction between the polyurethane lagging and the conveyor belt is only 0.12 during the dynamic state, while the friction of the rubber reaches 0.49. Compared with rubber lagging, polyurethane lagging has better abrasion and lower friction, so that its service life is increased by 300%-500% compared with rubber lagging sheet, and it is more friendly to  conveyor belts.

For tail pulley and bend pulley lagging of cement mine conveyor line, the most important thing to pay attention to is the anti-shelf performance and abrasion resistance.

The selection of models is recommended to choose based on these two properties, so that the safety of the pulley lagging and the reputation of customers will be established.
